We are praising God for undertaking the amazing completion of the new facility, thanks to the fortuitous provision of our wish-list donor. We are ever so grateful for the administrative ability of Auguy Cibuyi, who managed the project on the ground, and the way all aspects of the project came together. It was inspiring to watch videos of the workmen and women, as they moved into high gear, digging the well, building the wall, planting the garden, completing the interior and now having the new home for our 37 children. There is a suite for visitors, a playground area, and kiosk to sell bread and water and garden produce later. Our director, Guy and his family of four, live on the site.
Since the new location is 5 km from the school, a van and driver was needed. In due time the children were transported from their residence and a party arranged. Along with pastor Caleb to dedicate the facility, all enjoyed the goat meal which is traditionally needed for a celebration of this magnitude. God be praised! Now we need prayers for continued grace to nurture the children and develop structure and rhythm to life there and learn new responsibilities in the care of the home.
We are trusting that soon there will be funds generated from the sale of water and bread from the kiosk and garden produce to offset some of the expenses in caring for the children and their schooling. The children are learning sewing skills and gardening experience and housekeeping tasks. We pray for their maturity and ability to live life as independent persons when they graduate. Above all, they grow spiritually, living life harmoniously and productively.
We still need funds and are grateful for our monthly donors and others who contribute and pray for Odette Mukole, Elizabeth Schellenberg and the rest of the Board in their burden for this ministry.
